Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute Application

women veterans civic leadership instituteThe Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute, (WVCLI), teaches key elements of civilian civic leadership. The core curriculum is uniquely designed for today’s Military Women seeking specific leadership opportunities that enables them to become authors of positive change in today’s post 9-11 world.

Fellows of the Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute are dynamic social entrepreneurs uniquely trained and equipped to serve as America’s newest agents of social change. They are passionate about civic engagement and embolden as civic leaders. Upon completion of this unique fellowship program, WVCLI Fellows gain opportunities to serve among:

  • Public Policy Leaders serving to improve the overall quality of life for America’s Military Families;
  • Civic Leaders in powerful sectors of society including: Civic Affairs; Community Service; Business; Education; Faith-Based Outreach; Healthcare; Law; Media; Politics; and Elected Office.
  • Compelling Agents of Social Change who serve to benefit the common good of humanity.

The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Fellowship Program provides civic leadership training; accompanied by hands-on experiential learning; self-selected In-Service Fellowships; E-Portfolio Programming; and a professional nationwide Alumni Association of America’s leading Military Women.

Research shows that with a strong professional network, Military Women are better able to prosper in their field, expand their influence and excel when positioned for compatible leadership opportunities.

Eligibility

You are an eligible applicant if you are a Women Veteran; Active Duty Servicewoman; Reservist; National Guard; Military Spouse; Military Widow; Military Mom; or a Young Adult Girl, (age 16 & above), in a Military Family.

How To Apply

The Women Veterans Civic Leadership has a selective applicant process. Applicants are required to complete and submit the attached application during the open enrollment period. The 2015 application enrollment opens on January 1, 2015 for the 2015 Inaugural Graduating Class – which begins June 27-27, 2015 at Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA.

Cost & Payment Information

The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute is a tuition-based fellowship program. There is no application fee to apply to attend The WVCLI.

Thanks to our supportive partners, sponsors, and private donors, participants of The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute attend the program at a fraction of the cost of its true market value.

The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute Fellowship Program consists of four individual phases of training, education, experiential learning and a robust alumni association.

  1. Phase I – The Fundamentals of Civic Leadership For Today’s Military Women – Cost $125.00.  Phase I consist of  a two-day, in-class core curriculum focusing on the fundamentals of civic and community leadership.  It delivers detailed updates on civic, community, and business leadership opportunities that are highly compatible for today’s experienced and engaged military women. Phase I presents a generalist overview of the 6 primary components of The WVCLI (i.e., Advocacy; Boards; Commissions; Councils;  Campaigning; and the Alumni Association).  These fundamentals are the important core components of The Institute’s civic leadership training and education.  Phase I of this dynamic civic leadership fellowship program begins at our Annual Women Veterans Summer Retreat on the beautiful campus of Chestnut Hill College located in the beautiful and historic district of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, PA on June 27 & June 28, 2015.
  2. Phase II – The Civic Leadership Training & Education Series – Cost $250.00.   Phase II is a series of 5 one-day intensive training and education workshops designed to develop your skills as new and emerging Civic Leadership Fellows.   The Civic Leadership Training & Educations Series is a comprehensive collection of: workshops; case study review & analysis;  panel discussions; debates on topical public issues; and  public speaking training forums to build confidence and public speaking skills.  Participating fellows will receive professional instruction in the development of their own Civic Leaders E-Portfolio to document, track and present the results of their civic leaders fellowship for future leadership opportunities.  Phase II is dedicated to building tomorrow’s leaders; promoting civic and community service; expanding digital literacy and digital competency.  Our Phase II of our civic leaders training & education series is conducted during the months of September, October, November and December on the campus of Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA.  Typically, one-day intensive are held on the first Saturdays of each of the preceding months.
  3. Phase III – The Civic Leaders In-Service Fellowship – Cost $250.00.  Phase III is an In-Service Fellowship, (project management internship), with an approved civic, community, business and/or faith-based outreach organization dedicated to hands-on experiential learning of our Civic Leadership Fellows.  In-Service Fellowships are volunteer project management assignments designed to submerge WVCLI Fellows in “real-life” leadership experiences and opportunities.  Phase III In-Service Fellowships may be custom designed; participants are required to provide a minimum of 60 volunteer hours of community service; and must be completed in a 6-month period of time.  Participating fellows may present self-selected In-Service Fellowship opportunities on their admission applications for early review and approval by The WVCLI In-Service Fellowship Advisers.
  4. Phase IV – The WVCLI National Alumni Association – $125.00.   Phase IV is your induction into The WVCLI National Alumni Association as a proud graduate of The WVCLI Fellowship Program.  Our Alumni Association is a national network of leading professional Military Women who are committed to the advancement of today’s military women as tomorrow’s civic leaders.    Graduation from The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute (WVCLI) earns you the opportunity for participation in The WVCLI National Alumni Association and Nationwide Speakers Bureau.
