Women Veterans Making History, March 2016 Public Policy Day On Capitol Hill

On March 17, 2016, the inaugural graduating class of The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute, (WVCLI), spent its first Public Policy Day on Capitol Hill, as the first Women Veterans Delegation of Military Millennial Women to serve on Capitol Hill as Public Policy Advocates on behalf of America’s Women Veterans and Military Families.

The first 50 Delegates of The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) To Washington, DC expanded to engage its first 100 participants of the newly appointed members to The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) To Washington, DC. This dynamic delegation of Military Women consists of Post 9/11 Military Millennial Women; Women Veterans; Active Duty Servicewomen; ROTC Cadets; Military Spouses; and Military Moms too from all military eras.  The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) convened with Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who serves as one of the only two Combat Women Veterans in Congress.  She discussed the importance of engaging America’s Women Veterans in the country’s public policy process. Congresswoman Gabbard reiterated the power of a coalition of Woman Veteran Voices!  The Congresswoman applauded The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) To Washington, DC on their mission to serve as Public Policy Advocates on behalf on Military Women and Military Families.

The two-fold mission of The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) to Washington, DC is to engage and empower America’s Military Women as catalyst for positive social change through Public Policy and Post-Military Service in Public Leadership.

The 2015 graduates of The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute, (WVCLI), are among the first 50 Delegates of The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation(c) to Washington, D.C.  This public policy summit marked one visit in a series of Women Veterans ROCK! Public Policy Days On Capitol Hill.  The Women Veterans ROCK! “Voices of Victory” Town Hall Tour connects this Women Veterans 2020 Delegation to college and university campuses around the country.  Both of these forums are specifically designed in support of America’s Post 9/11 Women Veterans and Military Family Members as we advocate for positive changes in America’s public policies.
